Increased capacity for our supply chain

Shipping company Maersk has added a cold chain facility to the Golden Triangle between Auckland, Hamilton and Tauranga.

The 80-thousand square metre facility at Hamilton's Ruakura will hold around 30-thousand pallets across cold rooms and blast freezers.

Oceania Managing Director Kylie Fraser says it's an import, export and cross-docking facility.

She says they'll be able to load 12 metre containers out of there, and put up to 29 tonnes per container onto the rail line.
