A growing number of high-school students getting a head start on their careers while they study

A growing number of high-school students getting a head start on their careers while they study

Universal College of Learning's central North Island in-school tertiary programme enrolment has doubled over the last three years.

For three days a week, students can start apprenticeships, qualifications and work experience in a wide range of fields, including construction, hospitality and engineering.

UCOL Director Hayden Robinson is excited about the number students taking the opportunity.

He says it leads learners directly into employment which is appealing for schools, students and parents.
