Napier Port is on track to have its busiest cruise ship season ever

Napier Port is on track to have its busiest cruise ship season ever

Its had 72 cruise visits this season - with another 17 bookings through to April.

That translates to more than 130-thousand visitors.

The season was cut short last year due to Cyclone Gabrielle, and was impacted by Government Covid-19 restrictions in the years prior.

CEO Todd Dawson says the international cruise industry has rebounded since Covid - and New Zealand's has done the same.

He says it provides an economic boost for the region through tourists spending money.
