Funding for a meningococcal vaccine is set to end

Funding for a meningococcal vaccine is set to end

Youth aged 13-25 years, living in some close-living situations, have been able to get the meningococcal B vaccine for free since March last year.

But Pharmac's catch-up programme ends today - and only people in their first year of close-living are able to get the 150-dollar vaccine, free.

    Those flatting are not eligible.

Director of pharmaceuticals Geraldine MacGibbon says eligibility criteria is based on clinical advice.
