The Retirement Village Association say operators have made changes to their contracts after an advertising complaint

Consumer NZ lodged a complaint with the Commerce Commission in 2021 - alleging some villages were misleading people with their care claims.
The Commission put 12 village operators on notice because their conduct risked breaching the Fair Trading Act.
Retirement Village Association executive director John Collyns says the Commission is not taking any further action, as the operators have made changes to their contracts.
