Students at Christchurch's Lincoln High School are in lockdown, following second hand reports of someone with a fire arm

Students at Christchurch's Lincoln High School are in lockdown, following second hand reports of someone with a fire arm

Parents were notified around 1pm .

The schools email says students remain safe in their classrooms, and police are onsite.

Officers say they're confident there is no firearm or immediate threat, but will remain in the area to follow up enquiries and provide reassurance.

    Armed police have been sighted.

It's believed nearby Lincoln Primary and BestStart Te Whariki pre-school are also impacted.
