Health New Zealand says it's going as fast as it can to combat huge pay delays

Health New Zealand says it's going as fast as it can to combat huge pay delays

It's been three months since senior doctors and dentists settled pay negotiations with Te Whatu Ora, but most still haven't received agreed pay increases.

The Association of Salaried Medical Specialists says some of its members have been told they won't be paid until June.

Health New Zealand Chief People Officer Andrew Slater says their systems are the problem.

He says most of their payroll systems aren't complaint with New Zealand law and haven't been for a long time.

Slater says many of our hospitals still use paper time sheets.
