Nathan Lyon has spun Australia to a 172-run victory over New Zealand in the first cricket test at Wellington

The hosts were dismissed for 196 in their second innings.

Lyon finished with figures of 10 for 108, his fifth 10-wicket bag in 128 tests.

Black Caps captain Tim Southee admits the lack of a specialist spinner proved costly, despite the second innings five-for taken by Glenn Phillips.
