    World-leading medical technology - speeding up diagnosis of stomach disorders


    Results have been published in the latest Device journal, for the first human trials of Auckland University's endoscopic mapping device.

    Senior research fellow Dr Tim Angeli-Gordon says diagnosis of gastrointestinal disorders can sometimes take years.

    He says the device records electrical activity inside the stomach for about 15 minutes, allowing medical professionals to quickly make an assessment.

    Angeli-Gordon says it's minimally invasive - and fits in with the normal clinical process.
