Halyna Hutchins' family are "satisfied" that Hannah Gutierrez-Reed has been found guilty of the involuntary manslaughter of the cinematographer

The armorer had been on trial for the last two weeks in connection with the passing of the camera expert - who was fatally shot during rehearsals on the set of 'Rust' in October 2021 when a gun held by star Alec Baldwin accidentally discharged - and on Wednesday (06.03.24), it took the 12-person jury just a few hours of deliberation to deliver their verdict, which also included a not guilty ruling on the charge of evidence tampering

Halyna's parents, Olga Solovey and Anatolli Androsovych, and her sister, Svetlana Zemko, issued a statement in the wake of the verdict, in which they said they were "satisfied that the jury, based on the evidence" found her "guilty beyond a reasonable doubt for her part in the taking of Halyna's life.".

The statement from attorneys Gloria Allred and John Carpenter on behalf of the family added: "Halyna's parents and her sister have always wanted everyone who is responsible for Halyna's death to be held accountable.

"We look forward to the justice system continuing to make sure that everyone else who is responsible for Halyna's death is required to face the legal consequences for their actions."

A sentencing date has yet to be set, but Hannah is being held in custody and could be jailed for up to 18 months. Her team plan to appeal.

In July, Alec - who was also a producer on the movie - is set to also face trial for involuntary manslaughter in connection with the incident.

The 'Boss Baby' star has repeatedly insisted he didn't pull the trigger on the gun he was holding when it discharged, killing Halyna and injuring director Joel Souza.

First assistant director Dave Halls entered a plea of no contest to a misdemeanour charge of negligent use of a deadly weapon and was sentenced to a six-month suspended sentence with unsupervised probation, a $500 fine, 24 hours of community service and a firearms safety class.
