Survivors of the Auckland supermarket terror attack are seeking a public hearing to help answer questions they have surrounding the Islamic State supporter

Survivors of the Auckland supermarket terror attack are seeking a public hearing to help answer questions they have surrounding the Islamic State supporter

Ahamed Samsudeen stabbed five shoppers at New Lynn Countdown before being shot dead by two undercover police officers in September 2021.

Today in Auckland, Coroner Marcus Elliot opened a scope hearing to explore what should be addressed in a coronial inquiry.

The survivors want to know why officers tailing Samsudeen didn't follow him into the supermarket -- and if he was being adequately supervised at the mosque he was staying at.
