The 24-year-old Black Cap is the youngest player to earn the Sir Richard Hadlee medal - the supreme acknowledgement for the men's game.
Amelia Kerr dominated the women's awards by claiming the Debbie Hockley medal - the top women's prize - along with the ODI and T20 gongs.
Kane Williamson was the men's test player of the year, Daryl Mitchell picked up the ODI prize and Mitchell Santner was the T20 recipient.
The Bert Sutcliffe medal for outstanding service was awarded to long-time administrator Trudy Anderson.
