More money back in the pockets of families with young children

More money back in the pockets of families with young children

The Government has unveiled its Family Boost policy -- which will let parents and caregivers claim back up to 25 percent of childcare costs, from July.

Twenty-one-thousand families will qualify for the maximum 75-dollars a week.

Council of Christian Social Services' Nikki Hurst says giving the money back to the families, rather than the ECE providers, is a good thing.

She says this will make quite a difference in many children's lives, in that parents have slightly more money in their bank account.
