Extreme weather in the Mediterranean is being blamed for a poor olive yield, causing shortages of the oil around the world.
New Zealand grocery experts say prices have recently jumped by 50 - 60 percent.
Foodstuffs Head of Grocery Jocelyn McCallum says despite the shortage, they're working hard to ensure it's still widely avaliable.
She's reassuring customers supply won't be affected.
