    Significant delays in Taranaki DHBs care of a woman after vaginal mesh surgery


    Health and Disability Deputy commissioner Rose Wall has found the care and post surgery follow-up was inadequate.

    The woman went to Taranaki Base Hospital six weeks after her surgery, haemorrhaging and in significant pain.

    Two delays in review, investigations, diagnosis and treatment took about two years.

    The woman was also not properly informed about risks.
