King Charles has been given a first look at new British Pounds which will feature his face.
The king's portrait will appear on 5, 10, 20 and 50 pound polymer banknotes and will be circulated alongside existing notes that feature the late Queen Elizabeth.
The notes were presented to the king by Bank of England Governor Andrew Bailey and Chief Cashier Sarah John.
"So this, of course, is a big moment because we've never changed this offering on the banknotes because the queen was the first sovereign to be on the banknotes," Mr Bailey said.
While looking at the notes with his portrait King Charles said: "They are very well designed I must say."
The new banknotes will enter circulation in Britain from June 5.
"It's been a tradition to gift the reigning monarch with the lowest numbered banknotes for a long time," Ms John said.
"But this is the first time that we've had four new banknotes coming out at once.
"So it's a great pleasure to be able to show the king what he's going to look like on the banknotes in the future."
New banknotes featuring Charles will only be printed to replace those that are worn, and to meet any overall surge in demand for notes.
They will co-circulate with the Queen Elizabeth notes while remain as legal tender.
What is happening to the $5 in Australia?
In 2023 the Reserve Bank announced King Charles would not be replacing Queen Elizabeth's portrait on the $5 note.
Instead, the RBA has decided to update the note to feature a new design that honours the culture and history of the First Australians.
The RBA said it will take years to design the new note so the one with the Queen's portrait will continue to be in circulation.
Design idea submissions are currently open and close at the end of April.
Australian coins however will feature the kings portrait, with $1, $2 and 5 cent coins already in circulation.
