A Hollywood producer has blasted Sydney Sweeney and argued she "can't act" and is "not pretty"

The 'Euphoria' actress is seen as one of the biggest rising stars in the industry but she's failed to impress Carol Baum - whose films include 'Father of the Bride', 'Buffy the Vampire Slayer' and 'Fly Away Home' - who has branded the 26-year-old star's latest movie 'Anyone But You' "unwatchable" and insisted she just doesn't "get" the blonde beauty

Speaking with New York Times film critic Janet Maslin before a screening of her 1988 film 'Dead Ringers' at the Jacob Burns Center in Pleasantville, New York, DailyMail.com reports Carol said: "There's an actress who everybody loves now - Sydney Sweeney.

"I don't get Sydney Sweeney. I was watching on the plane Sydney Sweeney's movie because I wanted to watch it.

"I wanted to know who she is and why everybody's talking about her.

"I watched this unwatchable movie- sorry to people who love this movie - [this] romantic comedy where they hate each other."

Referring to the producing class she teaches as USC School of Cinematic Arts, she added: "I said to my class, 'Explain this girl to me. She's not pretty, she can't act. Why is she so hot?'

    "Nobody had an answer."

But Carol suggested she'd still work with Sydney if the actress' presence could get a project off the ground.

She added: "But then the question was asked, 'Well if you could get your movie made because she was in it, would you do it?'

"I said, 'Well that's a really good question...that's a very hard question to answer because we all want to get the movie made and who walks away from a green light? Nobody I know. Your job is to get the movie made.' "
