    Two New Zealand athletes are celebrating podium places at the first Diamond League meet of 2024 in China


    Maddie-Lee Wesche was second in the women's shot put, just 10 centimetres off the win, while Hamish Kerr was third in the high jump, three centimetres behind the first place-getter.

    Tori Peeters finished seventh in the women's javelin.
