At around eight this morning, a woman, believed to be in her 60s or 70s, was found dead in the water off Mahina Bay - south of Seaview.

The woman was wearing activewear, including a black hooded sweatshirt with white writing on it.

Officers are conducting enquiries in the area, and searching the shoreline.
