Farmers are continuing to pay well for good people in spite of industry challenges

Farmers are continuing to pay well for good people in spite of industry challenges

A new Farming Salaries Report indicates the average on-farm position wage rose 13-percent - across the dairy, sheep, beef and arable sectors.

Federated Farmers Employment spokesperson Richard McIntyre says Covid, economics, and weather challenges have been tough on farms - but the sector knows to invest in workers.

McIntyre says they can see the value from good staff in terms of better performance, and decreased farm costs.
