Taylor Swift has been left "mind blown" by the success of her new album

The 34-year-old pop megastar released 'The Tortured Poets Department' last week amid her 'Eras' world tour and took to social media on Sunday (28.04.24) evening to express her surprise after Billboard reported that the LP had amassed 2.61 million equivalent album units through streaming, therefore breaking records and tying with Jay-Z for most number one albums

She wrote on X: "What do you MEAN? My mind is blown. I'm completely floored by the love you've shown this album. 2.6 million ARE YOU ACTUALLY SERIOUS?? Thank you for listening, streaming, and welcoming Tortured Poets into your life. Feeling completely overwhelmed. I was already so fired up to get back to the tour but you doing THIS?? May 9th can't come soon enough ."

Although the lyrics include multiple references to the end of her six-year relationship with Joe Alwyn and her brief fling with Matty Healy, the 'Anti-Hero' songstress recently insisted on the album's release day now has "no scores to settle" with anyone as she has moved on now.

though the lyrics include multiple references to the end of her six-year relationship with Joe Alwyn and her brief fling with Matty Healy, she insisted she now has "no scores to settle" with anyone as she's moved on now.

She added: "And upon further reflection, a good number of them turned out to be self-inflicted. This writer is of the firm belief that our tears become holy in the form of ink on a page. Once we have spoken our saddest story, we can be free of it.

"And then all that's left behind is the tortured poetry.
