    More details have emerged of Friday's stabbing at Tauranga's Bayfair Shopping Centre


    The alleged offender appeared in Tauranga Youth Court on Monday, charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

    Police summary of facts allege the accused followed the other girl, and initiated an altercation before pulling out a knife and stabbing her four times in the abdomen.

    The victim remains in hospital in a stable condition.

    The accused will reappear in court next Monday.
