Police are about to provide an update on a major development, following Sunday night's fatal shooting on Auckland's Ponsonby Road

Police are about to provide an update on a major development, following Sunday night's fatal shooting on Auckland's Ponsonby Road

A source has confirmed to our newsroom, the man wanted over the shooting has been found dead in or near Taupo.

Police yesterday identified the suspect as 31-year-old Hone Kay-Selwyn, who had previously been in court for assault and breaching bail.

Police Minister Mark Mitchell says he won't pre-empt what Police will be announcing.

Police are yet to confirm the motivation for Sunday night's shooting.
