An acquaintance of a19-year-old crushed to death at a Dunedin party in 2019, says its organisers took standard safety measures

Sophia Crestani died in a stairwell pile-up at the Dundas Street flat party.

Twenty witnesses are appearing as the coroner investigates her death this week.

A former tenant told the inquest organisers did normal things other flats would -- including locking bedroom doors.

He said they had no idea of the negative effects those barricades would have - and thought they were keeping people safe.
