Canterbury University studies show high doses of micro-nutrients improved 'global functioning' of women with the disorder.
That's the measure for the seriousness of a mental health condition.
Antenatal depression increases pregnancy risks and birth complications -- and has been linked with emotional, behavioural, and developmental problems in children.
Professor Julia Rucklidge says nearly 70-percent of mums who on micro-nutrients felt improvements, compared to 39-percent taking the placebo.
