The Early Childhood Council says we have a once in a generation chance to refocus

David Seymour has announced his new Ministry of Regulation's first task, will be an early childhood education review.

Council chief executive Simon Laube says the current one size fits all approach - doesn't work for ECE.

He says members fear if rules aren't met to officials' satisfaction - the critical services they offer, will be shut down.

He says you can't just punish people forever because you'll end up with no services left for parents to choose from.
