    Ryan Fox has signed for an up-and-down three-over 73 to open his US golf Open at Pinehurst


    The kiwi had two birdies, three bogeys and a double bogey.

    Fox is tied for 107th and eight back from the lead held by Patrick Cantlay, who is back in the clubhouse with a five-under 65.

    Only 17 players are under-par as it stands, with the afternoon tee-offs underway.
