Margaret Qualley treats her car rides home as self-care

The 'Kinds of Kindness' actress, 29, says she feel life is so out of control the drives are when she gets back in touch with herself

She said at a screening of her new film at New Yorks' Museum of Modern Art: "That's the whole thing, right? I think - I mean the whole thing of life, too, we don't have very much control.

"We're always trying to reckon with it. I'm always just trying to be like, 'Okay', and on my car rides home after a day of work are just me trying to be nice to myself because you can't do anything now."

Margaret plays the role of Vivian in 'Kinds of Kindness', and was accompanied at the showing of the movie by director Yorgos Lanthimos and co-stars Emma Stone, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Plemons, Joe Alwyn, Hunter Schafer, Hong Chau and Mamoudou Athie.

'Kinds of Kindness' features three anthological stories in which actors portray different characters in storylines that take place in and around New Orleans.

An official synopsis for the movie says the tales follow "a man without choice who tries to take control of his own life".

Another story is of a policeman who is "alarmed that his wife who was missing at sea has returned and seems a different person".

And another tells of a woman "determined to find a specific someone with a special ability, who is destined to become a prodigious spiritual leader".

The movie is the third feature film collaboration between Emma Stone, 35, and filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos, 50, after their 'Poor Things' collaboration and 2018's 'The Favourite'.

The pair also made a short film together in 2022 titled 'Bleat'.

Willem Dafoe, 68, and Margaret also appeared in 'Poor Things', which won four Oscars at the 96th Academy Awards in March, while Joe Alwyn, 33, also co-starred with Emma in 'The Favourite'.
