An emotional goodbye from Newshub - as it closes the final chapter of its 6 pm news bulletin

An emotional goodbye from Newshub - as it closes the final chapter of its 6 pm news bulletin

Staff gathered together to look back on the memories of the news network - and bid their final goodbyes.

The closure - confirmed in April - has resulted in hundreds losing their jobs - and has been widely regarded as a loss for democracy.

Broadcaster Mike McRoberts has concluded the final bulletin with a Maori proverb and a message of thanks to the viewers.

He aha te mea nui o te ao? What is the most important thing in the world?

He tangata, he tangata, he tangata. It is the people, it is the people, it is the people
