Bob Morley has been "struggling with body dysmorphia" for his whole life

The 39-year-old actor has never opened up about his "brutal" ordeal before but admitted that the thought of his appearance has plagued him for such a long time and he "battles" with himself every day whenever he looks in the mirror.

He told People: "There's something that I have actually never really talked about . . . I think my entire life I've struggled with a form of body dysmorphia. I train so much, exercise is such a huge part of my mental health and sometimes it's probably too much.

"There's battles that I have in the morning, like, I get up and then I workout, I'm like, 'You look great. You look like you feel great.' And then I have lunch and I'm like, 'You're a slob. You're this, you're that. I don't want to see what I look like.'

"It's brutal. The back and forth of this kind of body dysmorphia and the comparisons to other people," he continued. "It's incessant, this idea of what I'm supposed to look like.'"

The 'I'll Be Watching' star has no idea how to fully deal with his issues but appreciates that there must be millions of others who endure the same sort of struggles and hopes that they can all give themselves some "grace" over the matter somehow.

He added: "It's something that I'll have to work on and learn to be kind to myself but I think it comes in many different forms and just trying to find that peace within yourself.

"I think a lot of people go through this on a day-to-day basis, and it's unrelenting - this kind of perception of self. I think we're all going through that struggle, and it'd be nice to give ourselves some grace."
