An Auckland woman accused of a brutal attack on a teenager on a bus has appeared in court today

Police say the 16 year old boy was hit with a pole - and lost three teeth - in what they allege was a racist attack.

A 39-year-old woman was arrested yesterday and charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Judge David McNaughton has remanded her in custody until an appearance on Monday.

Her bid for name suppression, will be addressed in the hearing.
