Assurance from Christchurch's Orana Wildlife Park health and safety concerns are being taken seriously

Worksafe issued two improvement notices last month, after finding poor engagement with workers on health and safety, and shortcomings on vehicle maintenance.

Council didn't find out about the enforcement action until after it had pledged 1.5 million dollars of funding.

The Park says it immediately worked to put steps in place after receiving the two improvement notices, and welcomes the opportunity to improve.

Worksafe will revisit in August.
