Chris Luxon's taken a leap as preferred Prime Minister -- according to a Taxpayers' Union Curia poll

Luxon's up 9.1 points on last month to 34.5 percent, while Opposition leader Chris Hipkins has fallen 1.5 points to 18.7.

The trend's mirrored in the party vote -- National climbed 2.2 points to 37.6, and Labour's dropped 3.5 points to just under 26 percent.

Meanwhile the Greens held steady on 12.5 percent, and co-leader Chloe Swarbrick's in third place as preferred Prime Minister -- jumping 2.3 points to 10.9 percent.

ACT has dropped 0.6 to 9.1 percent, and Te Pati Maori is down 0.5 points to 3.5 -- while New Zealand First is up 1.7 points to 7.3.
