A Christchurch man found guilty of murdering his baby daughter has been jailed for life

A Christchurch man found guilty of murdering his baby daughter has been jailed for life

Michael John Topp inflicted many fractures and two head injuries on the three-month old, before a fatal assault in December 2022.

Her mother told Christchurch's High Court today, no sentence will ever be enough.

She says Topp has already given her a death sentence - by taking the most special part of her.

Topp must serve 17 years behind bars, before being considered for parole.
