Sluggish demand from China continues to weigh down on dairy prices

Sluggish demand from China continues to weigh down on dairy prices

The price of Whole Milk Powder is down 1.6 percent at this morning's Global Dairy Trade auction, following a 4.3 percent drop a fortnight ago.

The price of Skim Milk Powder is down 1.1 percent, following a 6.1 percent drop at the last auction.

Overall prices are up 0.4 percent, after plunging 6.9 percent a fortnight ago, despite most analysts expecting a drop.

That's due to rising prices for anhydrous milk fat, cheddar and butter.
