An Auckland charter boat captain's been ordered to pay $4000 in reparation to the partner of a woman who fell to her death during a charter

Danielle Tamarua was attending a staff party onboard in 2021, when she lost her footing and went overboard, into the propeller.
The 25-year-old was on the bow as it returned to the Viaduct Harbour in worsening weather, a contravention of the vessel's Operation Plan.
However, no staff had asked her or anyone else to move inside.
Skipper Christopher Sherborne earlier pleaded guilty to two breaches of the Maritime Transport Act.
Zefiro Charters Limited is heading to trial next month - and if found guilty, faces a fine of up to $1.5 million.
