Sean Kingston and his mother have been indicted for fraud

The 'Beautiful Girls' hitmaker and 61-year-old Janice Turner appeared in federal court after a grand jury in Miami returned an indictment which accused the pair of falsely claiming they had sent bank transfers for luxury items.

The indictment alleges that Sean Kingston and his mother engaged in a scheme to defraud sellers of high-end specialty vehicles, jewelry, and other goods by presenting fraudulent documents. The pair allegedly obtained over $1 million in property through false representations. They face charges of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and wire fraud, each carrying a potential sentence of up to 20 years in prison. The charges stem from various transactions involving nearly $500,000 in jewelry, over $200,000 from Bank of America, and other high-value items. The rapper was previously arrested in California and extradited to Florida.
