Returning mums Brooke Francis and Lucy Spoors are rowing gold medallists, winning the doubles sculls at the Paris Olympics

Returning mums Brooke Francis and Lucy Spoors are rowing gold medallists, winning the doubles sculls at the Paris Olympics

The pair - who both had children in late 2022 - pipped their Romanian rivals by 0.24 of a second.

Francis has dedicated her win on Sky Sport.

Spoors has been asked if there were any dark times as a new parent - she's credited her support team for helping balance motherhood and rowing.

The men's four of Logan Ullrich, Tom Murray, Matt Macdonald and Ollie Maclean took silver - their female counterparts Jackie Gowler, sister Kerri Williams, Davina Waddy and Phoebe Spoors, sister of Lucy, secured bronze.

Single scullers Emma Twigg and Tom Mackintosh eased into their respective finals.
