A Hamilton high school student has given up on ever finishing secondary education, after being excluded from school for over a year

A Hamilton high school student has given up on ever finishing secondary education, after being excluded from school for over a year

The teen was excluded from Hillcrest High School in March 2023, after getting into a fight on school grounds, as well as being involved in an earlier incident.

His family privately tutored him until the Ministry of Education reviewed his case, who issued Hillcrest a directive in December to re-enrol him -- but they refused.

The Ministry withdrew their directive last week, and enrolled the teen in a polytechnic course.
