Debris left behind on Auckland Airport's runway meant several flights were interrupted

Debris left behind on Auckland Airport's runway meant several flights were interrupted

    Auckland Airport
    Auckland Airport
The airport says an international aircraft encountered an issue during takeoff just after 7.30 - before returning safely to the departures gate.

After a routine inspection, two sweeper trucks were dispatched to clear the debris left behind.

The short closure created delays and diversions for arriving flights.

    The runway has now reopened.
