The South Island is in for another wintery blast

The South Island is in for another wintery blast

MetService has issued a heavy snow watch from 1pm for inland parts of Canterbury and south of Marlborough.

Road snowfall warnings are also in place for the Crown Range, Porters Pass, Arthurs Pass and Lewis Pass.

Meanwhile, parts of North Island are getting battered with rain, wind and thunderstorms.

Meteorologist Stephen Glassey says some light snow could reach low levels, in North Canterbury and southern areas of Marlborough.
