Teri Hatcher didn't get to fully enjoy being a Bond girl because she was pregnant while making 'Tomorrow Never Dies'

The 59-year-old actress starred opposite Pierce Brosnan in the 1997 movie, but Teri has admitted she was more focused on her personal life during the two-week shoot because she was expecting her first child with actor Jon Tenney and "being a mother" was at the "forefront" of her mind

She told the Guardian newspaper: "I do step back with a lot of gratitude. 'Tomorrow Never Dies' was a very small role, perfect as I was secretly nine weeks pregnant. It was only two weeks, a couple of scenes, then I'd be too pregnant to keep working.

"But the pregnancy got leaked and it was out of my control. I don't think you'd get away with that anymore. Women's rights are much stronger. You're allowed to have privacy."

She added of her time on the film: "Women are sensitive before their first trimester because you're still wondering if it's all going work out. I wanted to be in the movie, but being a mother was at the forefront of my mind, whereas the forefront of somebody else's mind might have been: 'Oh, I'm in this James Bond movie. That's so cool'."

Teri's daughter Emerson was born in 1997, but her marriage to her daughter's father didn't last and they divorced in 2003.

The actress previously opened up about raising Emerson as co-parents after the split - insisting the former couple did all they could to keep the youngster's life stable.

She told the Irish Examiner: "I never wanted Emerson to have parents in different households, and I'll always feel guilty forever that she has to go back and forth. But her dad and I work really hard to make it as easy as possible for her, and I genuinely think she's OK."
