Sydney Sweeney feels proud to be "unapologetically" herself

The 26-year-old actress feels proud of who she is and Sydney is determined to encourage other young women to feel similarly confident about themselves

The blonde beauty - who was recently named as a global spokesperson for HEYDUDE, the casual footwear brand - told PEOPLE: "I'm always really proud to be very unapologetically myself and the director of my own life, which is what I think it means to be a dude.

"I think that this campaign really just pulls back the curtains and shows who I am behind the camera and inspires people to be confidently themselves."

Sydney believes everybody should feel "comfortable and confident" in what they wear.

She said: "I always gravitate towards brands that I want to bring to a younger female audience because I really think that this footwear is for everybody. Everybody should be comfortable and confident."

Last year, Sydney admitted that she was still "navigating" fame.

The Hollywood star has enjoyed a meteoric rise over recent years, and Sydney admitted that she was still adjusting to her own fame and success.

The actress told ES Magazine: "I think I'm still navigating it on a daily basis because I want to be as authentic and genuinely open to the public and my fans as possible. And I think I am.

"I talk a lot, I'm very open and it'll probably be to my detriment, but I don't know how people can hide behind an image.

"At the same time, I don't owe people answers. I'm a very private person when it comes to my family and relationships. I want people to know who I am as an individual but also, I feel that I should still be allowed to have my own peace and private life as well.

"It's a weird balance, I'm definitely still figuring it out."
