The family of a boatie missing in Auckland's Manukau Harbour have been keeping vigil at the water's edge

Police divers have been called in since a boat sank on Tuesday.

Coastguard confirmed this morning they were no longer looking for the man out on the water.

His family says they've been coming to the boat ramp near Mangere Bridge - while waiting for updates.

A rahui's been placed on much of the area -- expected to last at least a week.
