Broadcaster Whakaata Maori is undergoing a major restructure -- with job cuts looming

Chief Executive Shane Taurima told staff in a company wide hui this morning, changes include reducing the senior leadership from seven to four.

Content investment will reduce - with less focus on "high-impact" projects and its Te Reo channel will move online in March.

There'll also be a broader organisational review, with job cuts by late next month.

Taurima says these decisions weren't taken lightly, but are necessary to ensure long-term sustainability.
