Police believe last night's fatal shooting in Auckland's Grey Lynn relates to a neighbourhood dispute - that's been ongoing since March

Police believe last night's fatal shooting in Auckland's Grey Lynn relates to a neighbourhood dispute - that's been ongoing since March

One man was killed - and three others are receiving treatment for gunshot wounds - after a violent altercation before seven on Tuarangi Road .

The two groups involved fled the scene - and police are still trying to piece together who was there.

Detective Inspector Glenn Baldwin says other events dating back to March could be linked - including a burglary on the 16th of August.

He says police are also looking into a report of wilful damage to a house and vehicles on the street, about four that afternoon.

He believes the two are related and that will form the basis of the wider investigation.
