    More than 200 recreational fishermen have been caught illegally raiding marine reserves in the past 2 years


    The NZ Herald has revealed Auckland, Taranaki, Hawke's Bay and the Coromandel had the most offences.

    The Department of Conversation's Shane Geange says it's a significant problem, with some people ignorant and others wilfully and repeatedly ignoring rules.

    He urges the public to help spot offending, and to take photos, videos, and notes when they can do safely.
