Hundreds of workers at two central North Island mills are expected to find out their fate today

Hundreds of workers at two central North Island mills are expected to find out their fate today

Winstone Pulp is expected to meet with staff this afternoon - on whether the Ruapehu District's Karioi pulpmill and Tangiwai sawmill will close.

The indefinite closure was proposed in the wake of soaring energy prices.

The Ruapehu District Mayor has been calling on the Government to intervene to keep the mills operational.
