An Auckland mother has been left shaken after a pharmacist's error, meant she almost gave her 2-year-old 5 times more liquid steroid than prescribed

An Auckland mother has been left shaken after a pharmacist's error, meant she almost gave her 2-year-old 5 times more liquid steroid than prescribed

It comes after a finding by the HDC earlier this week, where a pharmacist's error led a 4-week-old baby to stop breathing, because of an incorrect dose.

The pharmacy explained the doctor's handwriting had been hard to read, but took responsibility, and had planned changes to prevent any future incidents.

The mother has referred the case to the HDC.
