Auckland Airport says its new 1.4 billion dollar capital raise, is already attracting strong interest

It's raising money to upgrade infrastructure over the next five years -- much of it dating back to the 1960s.

Auckland Airport Chief Executive Carrie Hurihanganui says there's been strong interest from institutional investors, and it's also expecting strong interest from its retail offer.

She says the potential need for capital has been well-signalled to the market.

Hurihanganui says the company has made it clear, the need for equity would depend on performance, and the pace of its building programme.
